The Ministry of Interior has clarified that Friday, November 8, 2024, will not be a public holiday, even though it marks the 40th Farmers’ Day celebration in Ghana. Traditionally held on the first Friday of December, Farmers’ Day was moved to November 8 this year to avoid a clash with the upcoming general elections. However, December 6 will still be observed as a statutory holiday in accordance with Ghanaian law.
The Ministry’s announcement aims to address any public confusion regarding the holiday status of November 8, reinforcing that the date shift does not extend to making it a day off.
