The lawsuit, filed on October 28, 2024, stems from allegations made by Yeboah during a broadcast on Peace FM, where he accused Nyantakyi of misappropriating GFA funds, specifically claiming that he withdrew US$2 million for personal gain.
Nyantakyi asserts that these statements have significantly damaged his reputation and personal life, leading to distress and concerns from friends and family. He argues that the allegations were published with malicious intent and contends that the journalist and the media platforms knew the claims were false.
The case highlights ongoing tensions in Ghanaian sports journalism and governance, particularly surrounding financial accountability and transparency in sports organizations.
