PURC Resolves Utility Complaints and Increases Awareness in Volta and Oti Regions.

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) in the Volta and Oti regions resolved 215 of the 239 complaints it received in the third quarter of 2024. The majority of these complaints focused on service quality issues, overbilling, and metering concerns. As part of its public education efforts, PURC engaged over 5,400 stakeholders through 45 programs that shared information on consumption reduction, safety, and consumers’ rights and responsibilities under Ghana’s regulatory guidelines. Additionally, PURC monitored nine district service centers across both regions to ensure quality service delivery, further supporting the improvement of utility services and public awareness in these regions.
