Mohammed Kudus, the West Ham United forward, has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association (FA) after receiving a red card during his team’s 4-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. The incident occurred late in the match when Kudus was involved in a confrontation with Tottenham players Micky van de Ven and Pape Matar Sarr.
Initially shown a yellow card by referee Andrew Madley, the decision was escalated to a straight red after a VAR review. The FA’s statement outlined that Kudus allegedly exhibited “improper and/or violent conduct,” which could lead to a suspension of at least three games if the charge is upheld. This means he will likely miss crucial upcoming fixtures against Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, and Everton.
In addition to Kudus, both West Ham and Tottenham have also been charged by the FA for failing to control their players during the altercation
