This warning comes after reports surfaced about counterfeit or unauthorized variants of the medication being sold in some markets, posing serious health risks to consumers.
The FDA emphasized that only the officially registered Postinor-2, which meets safety and efficacy standards, should be used. They urged the public to be vigilant and to purchase medications only from licensed pharmacies and healthcare providers. The authority is committed to ensuring that safe and effective medications are available to the public and is working to clamp down on illegal and unapproved products in the market.
The FDA’s alert highlights the importance of proper medication management and consumer awareness, especially concerning reproductive health products.
