
On September 5, 2024, Accra’s Tourist Information Centre buzzed with excitement for the launch of “You Play Me I Play You,” a socio-cultural satire produced by Africa Arts Network (AAN). This Ghana-Nigeria collaboration, set to showcase at the National Theatre on November 8 and Bukom Arena on November 9, combines humor and drama to explore cultural dynamics between the two nations.
Written by the late Ghanaian playwright Efo Kodjo Mawugbe and directed by Fiifi Coleman, the play features a talented cast, including Ghana’s Jeneral Ntatia and Clemento Suarez, alongside Nigeria’s Brain Jotter. The production aims to foster cross-cultural collaboration and celebrate African diversity through storytelling.

Kofi Adinkra, founder of AAN, highlighted the importance of promoting African arts and creating a unified platform for artists across the continent. Fiifi Coleman praised the play for its authentic portrayal of cultural issues and its role in stimulating conversations about unity and understanding.
Nigerian comedian Brain Jotter expressed his excitement about bridging Ghanaian and Nigerian entertainment scenes, while Nana Yaw Oduro (Trigmatic) emphasized the play’s alignment with AAN’s goals of expanding African arts and building valuable brand partnerships.
