The Western North Development Association (WEDNA) has issued a call to leading political figures, including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former President John Dramani Mahama, to address the longstanding neglect of the region’s development needs ahead of the 2024 elections. The association expressed frustration over Western North being overlooked for major infrastructural projects, despite its contributions to national development.
WEDNA emphasized that the region has been marginalized in areas such as roads, healthcare, and education, and urged political parties to prioritize Western North in their development agendas. They warned that voters in the region expect meaningful changes before casting their ballots in the upcoming elections.
Key demands include improving road networks, healthcare facilities, and educational resources, which the association believes will uplift the socio-economic conditions of the region. WEDNA’s call is part of a broader effort to ensure that Western North receives the attention it deserves after years of being sidelined.
