Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has expressed her gratitude to Ghanaians for their thoughtful messages and well wishes after reports of her hospitalization due to a sudden illness. In a statement released on Monday, March 31, 2025, she thanked the public for their support, stating, “I sincerely thank everyone for their kind words and well wishes over the weekend.”

She also took the opportunity to send Eid Al-Fitr greetings to the Muslim community, wishing them peace and strength during this sacred celebration. “On this sacred occasion, I send my warmest greetings to you and your loved ones. Prof. Opoku-Agyemang had been hospitalized at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) after falling ill on Friday, March 28, 2025. The presidency confirmed her condition and disclosed that medical professionals have recommended further treatment abroad to ensure her full recovery.
