Police Nab Key Suspect in Deadly MoMo Vendor Robbery

The Ghana Police Service has arrested another suspect linked to the robbery and murder of a Mobile Money (MoMo) vendor in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.

In a statement on Thursday, the police identified the suspect as Martin Amoah, also known as “Baba Macho.” He was captured on March 27 during a targeted operation in Kpone, Greater Accra Region. Amoah had been on the Ashanti Regional Police’s wanted list, and his arrest brings the total number of suspects in custody to four.

Authorities believe his capture marks a significant breakthrough in ongoing investigations into recent attacks on MoMo vendors. Kumasi has seen a rise in violent robberies targeting mobile money operators, with three vendors losing their lives in separate incidents.

The police have reassured the public of their commitment to bringing all perpetrators to justice. The arrested suspects remain in custody and will soon face charges related to robbery and murder.
