Former Youth and Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has voiced concerns about the Black Stars’ passion and commitment following their 1-1 draw against Niger in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Despite an early goal from Alidu Seidu, Niger equalized late in the game, leaving Ghana in third place in Group F.
Afriyie Ankrah expressed disappointment with the team’s performance, stating, “There is no commitment and passion to die for the country in this Black Stars,” during an interview with Kumasi-based Akoma FM.
This draw comes on the heels of Ghana’s opening defeat to Angola last Thursday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. Otto Addo and his team will look to secure their first win in the qualifiers when they face Sudan in a crucial doubleheader in October.
