In a vibrant conclusion to the Sixth Duamenefa Regional Football Tournament, held at Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School on September 7, 2024, Madam Joyce Datsa, Director of the Volta Regional Sports Authority, lauded the Duamenefa Foundation for its exceptional contributions to sports and youth development in the region.
Madam Datsa expressed pride in the Foundation’s role in promoting sports and highlighted its broader socio-economic impact. “The Duamenefa Foundation excels in discovering and nurturing young talents, offering them a platform to showcase their potential,” she stated.
She praised the Foundation for its commitment to various initiatives, including skills training for single parents, vocational training, and the construction of a new vocational school. These efforts, she noted, help channel youth energies productively, steering them away from crime and idleness.
The annual Under-17 football tournament, supported by the Tanko Foundation and the Infinity Group of Companies, saw Afornyaga Striking Force FC from Afife clinch the title. Madam Datsa emphasized the importance of continued support for such impactful programs that drive both sports and socio-economic development in the Volta Region.
