A person is currently receiving treatment at the Police Hospital in Accra after a tree fell on their vehicle during a heavy downpour on Tuesday, March 25, in front of the Kotobabi Police Station.
The intense rains, accompanied by strong winds, also caused damage in other areas of Accra, including the collapse of the solar panel car park shed at A&C Mall, which affected over 50 vehicles.
In addition, at the Accra College of Education, the rain caused flooding in some dormitories and damage to parts of a newly built washroom facility. No casualties were reported at the College, but some roofs of lecturers’ bungalows were also blown off, with carpenters working on repairs.
