Kwabena Adu Boahene’s Luxury Properties Linked to $7 Million Fraud Scheme

Former Director of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), Kwabena Adu Boahene, is under investigation for allegedly using misappropriated government funds to acquire luxury properties in Accra. Since his appointment in 2018, Adu Boahene has amassed a number of prime real estate holdings, which authorities suspect were funded by fraudulent financial transactions linked to a $7 million cyber defense contract scandal.

According to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Adu Boahene was involved in redirecting over GHS 39.4 million ($5.6 million) from government contracts into personal accounts. This diversion of funds occurred under the guise of payments for a cyber defense system that was never fully realized.

Properties tied to Boahene include high-end estates in Accra’s Mayfair Estates, with notable purchases such as a $1 million property on No. 2 Stream Part Drive and multiple homes on Edith Avenue, one of which was bought with an initial $500,000 deposit.

Further investigations have revealed that Boahene and his associates used a network of companies, including Advantage Solutions Limited, to launder the funds. Dr. Dominic Ayine, the Attorney-General, has issued a warning to banks to halt any transactions related to the case and confirmed that all assets tied to Boahene are under surveillance.

As the investigation continues, authorities are determined to hold those responsible for the alleged misuse of state funds accountable.
