
The Ministry of Labour, Jobs & Employment, in collaboration with the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and GIZ Ghana, has launched the Work Abroad Programme. This initiative, unveiled on the evening of March 19, 2025, aims to provide young Ghanaians with job opportunities in international markets, addressing the country’s ongoing challenge of youth unemployment.
The programme is designed to offer guidance, resources, and support to help Ghanaian youth secure jobs in various sectors abroad. At the launch, key stakeholders emphasized the potential benefits for participants, highlighting how gaining international experience could enhance career prospects and contribute to national development.
YEA CEO Malik Basintale shared the vision behind the initiative, stressing that the programme is all about creating opportunities and ensuring young people can thrive both locally and globally. The event saw speeches from various officials, and discussions on the implementation process were held, with a focus on ensuring the programme’s success.
The collaboration with GIZ Ghana will enhance the programme’s effectiveness by tapping into international networks and expertise in facilitating employment opportunities. The government has pledged its full support for participants, reinforcing its commitment to empowering youth and contributing to economic growth through global exposure.
