Ofori-Atta Faces Arrest If He Fails to Appear for Questioning, OSP Warns

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has issued a stern warning to former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, stating that he will be declared a wanted person once again if he does not show up for questioning by Monday, June 2, 2025.

This warning follows a lawsuit filed by Ofori-Atta against the OSP and its head, Kissi Agyebeng, accusing them of unlawfully placing him on the wanted list. However, the OSP clarified that Ofori-Atta had initially requested his removal from the list, assuring authorities he would appear for questioning on a specific date. Acting in good faith, the OSP temporarily removed his name but now stresses that failure to comply will lead to his immediate reinstatement as a fugitive.

Should this happen, the OSP warned it would request an Interpol Red Notice for Ofori-Atta’s arrest and initiate extradition proceedings in any jurisdiction where he might be found. The Special Prosecutor reiterated its commitment to ensuring accountability, with Ofori-Atta still under investigation for five ongoing corruption-related cases.
