Renowned Ghanaian businessman Daniel McKorley, popularly known as McDan, has opened up about why he postponed marriage for years, citing financial concerns as a major factor. Speaking at the 2025 PCH Hangouts at ICGC The New Wine Temple in East Legon, he shared how growing up in an environment where money struggles led to conflicts in marriages made him hesitant about settling down.
“I was afraid of ‘chop money’ because I saw men physically abusing women over it, and women also verbally attacking men because of it,” he admitted.
McDan also revealed that his relentless focus on success affected his personal relationships. He recalled how an ex-girlfriend, Dorothy, left him because he was always too busy working. Even when they spent time together, he would often doze off mid-conversation due to exhaustion.
Despite making his first million dollars while driving a modest Fiat Ritmo, McDan said he still didn’t feel financially secure, which kept him pushing harder. His story was part of a session themed “From Vision to Reality: Turning Business Ideas into Action,” aimed at inspiring young entrepreneurs to persevere despite financial struggles.
