Gifty Oware-Mensah, the former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS), has been released by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) after being questioned in connection with the ongoing investigation into the ghost names scandal at the NSS.
Oware-Mensah was arrested on Friday, March 7, 2025, and detained for a brief period before being granted release on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Sources suggest her cooperation with investigators during the questioning contributed to her release.
Her interrogation is part of a broader investigation into alleged irregularities within the NSS, which has been under scrutiny due to claims of ghost names being included in the national service registration.
Although her involvement in the scandal remains unclear, Oware-Mensah is expected to return for further questioning as investigations continue. Authorities have not yet revealed whether formal charges will be filed against her.
As of now, Oware-Mensah has not issued any public statement on the matter.
