The Council of State Representative for the Volta Region, Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple, has donated seven motorcycles to the Duamenefa Foundation to enhance the mobility of community journalists across the region and parts of Togo.
The donation targets journalists in Keta Municipality, Akatsi South, Ketu South, Ketu North, Anlo District, and cross-border communities like Zanguera, Segbe, and Akanu. With this support, reporters can now cover critical local issues more effectively, bringing underreported stories to national attention.
For years, the Duamenefa Foundation has been instrumental in investigative journalism, advocacy, and social interventions. However, mobility challenges have often limited their ability to reach remote areas. The new motorcycles will enable journalists to navigate difficult terrains, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
The Executive Board of Governors of Fafaa FM, the foundation’s media partner, expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Kwamigah-Atokple for his generosity. In an official statement, they acknowledged his commitment to supporting community-driven journalism and governance initiatives.
Mr. Kwamigah-Atokple emphasized the importance of empowering grassroots reporting, stating that access to credible information is essential for national development. He encouraged other stakeholders to invest in initiatives that strengthen civic engagement and local governance.
This donation adds to his ongoing efforts in supporting education, media, and community development, reinforcing his vision of building informed and engaged communities.
