Ho Aviation Academy Set to Take Off by End of 2025 – Togbe Afede

Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, has announced that the first phase of the Aviation Academy in Ho, including a Pilot Training School, is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

Speaking during a feasibility study at the Ho Airport, Togbe Afede expressed confidence in meeting the timeline, stating that key international approvals and infrastructure blueprints are already in progress. He revealed that in the next eight months, construction should be completed, with plans in place to ship and assemble two training aircraft in Ghana.

Beyond pilot training, the academy will also feature a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility. Togbe Afede emphasized that skilled aerospace engineers from Ghana, currently working in Europe and the U.S., have been invited to contribute their expertise. He believes this facility could attract aircraft from across the world for servicing, given the global shortage of aviation maintenance centers.

The initiative has received strong support from stakeholders, including the Ghana Airports Company and the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, who stressed the project’s potential to boost employment, tourism, and regional development.
