
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has taken a bold step to revive the Kumawood film industry by forming a special committee to address its challenges and boost growth.
Announcing the initiative on his Facebook page, Dr. Amoakohene stated that the Ministerial Committee on the Movie Industry & Creatives (Kumawood) has been tasked with evaluating the current state of the industry, identifying obstacles, and proposing solutions.
The committee’s focus includes attracting investment, improving production facilities, expanding training opportunities, and promoting Ghanaian films locally and internationally. Additionally, it aims to strengthen film festivals and cultural events while fostering collaborations among industry players.
Dr. Amoakohene urged the committee members to work with dedication and unity to ensure that Kumawood thrives and contributes to a globally competitive Ghanaian film industry.
