A 32-year-old woman, Yahaya Jamila, lost her life in a devastating train accident at Bediako, Kpone-Katamanso, along the Tema-Mpakadan Railway Line.
Eyewitnesses report that Jamila was crossing the tracks with a toddler when the accident occurred. Some suggest the child may have wandered onto the tracks, prompting her to attempt a rescue. Others believe she was wearing earphones and did not hear the train’s horn in time.
The high-speed train struck her, crushing her head instantly. While the train stopped briefly, it continued its journey shortly after, leaving the tragic scene behind.
Authorities, including the Community 25 Police, have begun investigations, with local leaders calling for improved railway safety measures to prevent such incidents.
