The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, has launched the 2025 Heritage Month to celebrate Ghanaian culture, heritage, and domestic tourism.
Held at Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, the launch attracted key stakeholders from the tourism and hospitality sectors. Heritage Month, observed every March, coincides with Ghana’s Independence Day and promotes local festivals, arts, crafts, music, and food.
GTA Deputy CEO Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey highlighted the initiative’s goals, including boosting national pride, supporting local industries, and attracting investment through programs like “Experience Ghana, Share Ghana” and “See Ghana, Eat Ghana, Wear Ghana, Feel Ghana.”
CEO Maame Efua Houadjeto encouraged tourism businesses to integrate Ghanaian culture into their services, while emphasizing the importance of highlife music, traditional textiles, and local cuisine.
A key highlight of this year’s celebration is The Black Star Experience, which aims to position Ghana as the ultimate gateway to Africa. The initiative will feature cultural exhibitions, food fairs, fashion shows, film weeks, and immersive tourism activities.
A special Food and Cultural Fair is set for March 14 at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, showcasing Ghanaian cuisine in collaboration with top chefs and traditional caterers.
With an exciting lineup of events, including Ghana Music Month, Heritage Caravan, and the Made-in-Ghana Rave, the GTA calls on Ghanaians to actively participate and support the celebrations.
