Samini Set to Drop ‘CHAANA’ with Soweto Gospel Choir

Ghanaian music icon Samini is making a powerful comeback with his new single, CHAANA, featuring the world-renowned Soweto Gospel Choir. The song, set for release on March 13, serves as the first single from his upcoming album, ORIGIN8A.

Meaning “shine,” CHAANA blends Afro Pop with African traditional elements, incorporating the WALA dialect from Ghana’s Upper West Region and Swahili lyrics from the Soweto Gospel Choir. Produced by Francis Osei, the track delivers an uplifting message of African unity, resilience, and excellence.

The official music video, shot in South Africa by Yaw Skyface, visually reinforces these themes with stunning landscapes and cultural symbolism. Music insiders have already praised the collaboration, with some calling it “a mix of sugar and honey” and others declaring that “Samini has unleashed the beast.”

Fans can stream CHAANA on all digital platforms upon its release as Samini gears up to reclaim his place at the top of the African music scene.
