A 48-year-old Akpeteshie seller, Esi Affumwaa, has been granted bail after allegedly biting a customer’s testicle during a fight over GH¢2.40. The incident occurred in Assin Wurakese Camp in the Central Region when Karim Osman, a 36-year-old farmer, visited Affumwaa’s drinking spot to buy a cigarette. A dispute over his debt turned violent, leading to Affumwaa allegedly hitting Osman with firewood and biting his testicle, causing severe injuries.
She was arrested and admitted to causing harm, claiming she acted in self-defense. The court granted her bail at GH¢10,000 with two sureties, and the case has been adjourned to March 13, 2024.
