Mahama Declares War on Corruption: “Ghana Is No Longer a Safe Haven”

President John Mahama has sent a strong warning to corrupt individuals, declaring that Ghana is no longer a safe space for those who defraud the state. Speaking after receiving a report from the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) team, he emphasized his administration’s commitment to fighting corruption and recovering stolen state assets.

The ORAL team, led by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, presented a report detailing 2,417 cases of alleged corruption, with stolen assets valued at approximately $21.19 billion. These assets include lands, bungalows, and other state properties believed to have been unlawfully acquired by officials of the previous government.

Mahama assured Ghanaians that his government stands firmly for integrity, accountability, and the rule of law. He called on citizens, civil society, the media, and public officials to support the anti-corruption agenda, stating that all those found guilty would face justice without fear or favor.

The report has been handed over to Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine for further investigation and possible prosecution.
