Tragic Fire at Kissiman Junction Claims Life of Four-Month-Old Baby.

A devastating fire outbreak at a slum near Kissiman Junction, close to Achimota-Samodak, has resulted in the tragic death of a four-month-old baby.

The fire, which started in the early hours of today, engulfed over 20 wooden structures, destroying residents’ belongings. Despite the swift intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the infant could not be saved.

According to Divisional Officer Two (DO II) Desmond E. Ackah, firefighters from the Legon and Abelemkpe Fire Stations received the distress call at 4:12 a.m. and arrived within 12 minutes. Their prompt action prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby warehouse.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, while firefighters continue overhauling operations to ensure complete extinguishment of any remaining flames. The baby’s remains have been handed over to the police for further examination.
