A fire has ravaged a 12-acre portion of a mango farm in Somanya, Eastern Region, causing losses of over GH₵100,000. The fire, which began due to a discarded snake carcass smoldering near sawdust and pig waste, spread quickly due to the dry Harmattan conditions. Despite efforts by the farm owner to extinguish the flames, the fire engulfed the farm, damaging a significant portion of the 25-acre property. Fortunately, the piggery was spared, and quick intervention by the Somanya Fire Service prevented further destruction.
