President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Malik Basintale, the Deputy National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as the new Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA). This appointment follows the resignation of Kofi Baah Agyepong, who stepped down from his position due to personal commitments and aspirations.
Basintale, a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics, played a significant role in the NDC’s campaign during the December 7 Presidential Election. His new role will take effect on January 27, 2025. In a post on social media, Basintale expressed his gratitude to President Mahama, saying, “Thank you, Mr President, H.E. John D. Mahama. We shall not fail you❤️🙏🏽🇬🇭.”
Kofi Baah Agyepong, who served as CEO of YEA for two years, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the fight against youth unemployment in Ghana. His resignation is part of a larger trend of leadership changes in state-owned agencies following the recent elections.
