President John Dramani Mahama has revealed how proactive measures by his administration prevented a potential energy crisis during scheduled maintenance of the West African Gas Pipeline, a vital fuel source for Ghana’s thermal plants.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of six new ministers on January 22 at the Jubilee House, Mahama highlighted the advanced arrangements made to supply alternative fuels, ensuring uninterrupted power supply. He criticized the previous administration for failing to prioritize energy stability, which he said could have resulted in power outages.
Mahama commended Energy Minister John Jinapor for his leadership during the crisis and reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining a lean government with no more than 60 ministers.
