Nollywood actress Ini Edo has revealed her personal struggles with fertility and her journey to motherhood through surrogacy. Speaking on the reality TV series Young, Famous & African, the 42-year-old shared how years of unsuccessful attempts at carrying pregnancies led her to this decision in 2023.
Edo reflected on marrying at 26 with plans to complete childbearing by 31. However, persistent fertility challenges altered her dreams. Despite initial hesitations about going public, she stated, “I never thought I’d face fertility issues, but I took this option to fulfill my dream of becoming a mother.”
Ini Edo, previously married to Philip Ehiagwina from 2008 to 2014, also emphasized the strength it took to navigate this emotional journey, inspiring many women facing similar struggles.
