Two suspects, Dzagey William and Agbemenyo Yao, have been arrested in Korve, Akatsi North District, Volta Region, over a suspected ritual murder. They are accused of killing Agbodzi Konor, removing his organs, and hiding the body parts.
Agbodzi went missing on January 10, 2025, after leaving to cut firewood. His body was discovered after his girlfriend, who witnessed the murder, reported to the police. The girlfriend revealed Dzagey, her ex-husband, shot Agbodzi and allowed her to leave after threatening her to remain silent.
The incident has sparked outrage, with Dzagey being accused of harboring political and personal grievances against the victim. Police investigations are ongoing, while the family appeals for justice and the release of the corpse for burial.
The body and the organs have been deposited at St. Anthony’s Hospital morgue in Dzodze.
