Dumsor: Mahama Calls for Immediate Action on Looming Power Crisis.

President John Dramani Mahama has raised alarms over an imminent energy crisis just days after assuming office. The crisis, commonly referred to as “dumsor,” stems from critically low fuel reserves, reportedly sufficient for only five hours of supply, according to Yapei Kusawgu MP John Jinapor.

Jinapor criticized the outgoing administration for neglecting to secure adequate fuel supplies, leaving the new government vulnerable to widespread outages.

In a meeting with the World Bank delegation, President Mahama assured the public of his commitment to addressing the crisis. He noted, “Ghana has the human resources to deal with the situation and turn things around quickly.”

Meanwhile, the Institute for Energy Security (IES) has urged swift action to prevent the escalation of dumsor, which could severely impact the country.
