Nollywood actress Dakore Egbuson Akande has paid an emotional tribute to her late father, days after his death on January 1, 2026. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she said she is totally heartbroken but comforted that he is now free from pain.
Dakore thanked her father for the memories, laughter and legacy of excellence he passed on to her and her siblings. She fondly recalled his love for music and strong sense of style, noting that despite the complexity of their family history, he remains immensely loved and missed beyond comprehension.
Announcing that he died on New Year’s Day, she prayed for his soul to rest in perfect peace and appealed to her fans, known as Dakorians, to remember her family in their prayers during this difficult time. Dakore added that she will love him forever, describing the loss as a devastating blow for the entire family.
Her brother, actor Timini Egbuson, had earlier broken the news of their father’s passing in his own Instagram post. He promised to keep making their late father proud, as colleagues and fans across Nollywood continue to send messages of support to the Egbuson family.
