National Security operatives, in collaboration with the Police and Military, have arrested Nigerian businessman Ben Peters at the Aurora apartments in Kanda, located near the Jubilee House in Accra. The arrest followed a distress call from residents complaining that Peters and his associates had blocked all access to the building, preventing other residents from entering or exiting.
According to Mustapha Gbande, the Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, Peters had become upset after the management of the apartment refused his request for a personalized key. In response, he allegedly decided to block the entire apartment building. When security operatives arrived, Peters initially resisted arrest but was eventually detained along with some of his associates.
A search of Peters’ residence uncovered several vehicles, including SUVs with police sirens, and dispatch motorbikes. These vehicles were seized for further investigation. Gbande emphasized that Peters had no legal right to block the building and that the use of police sirens was unlawful.
Currently, the seized vehicles are being processed, and investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the businessman’s actions.
