Tinubu Uses Eid-el-Kabir To Reaffirm Commitment to Progress
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has used the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir 2025 to reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to progress and national unity.
In his official message to the nation, Tinubu congratulated Muslims across the country and the global Ummah, calling the festival a time for reflection, faith, and gratitude.
“Eid-el-Kabir represents the high point of the sacred first ten days of Dhul Hijjah,” he said.
“It is a time for gratitude to Almighty Allah for His countless mercies upon us as individuals and a nation.”
He urged citizens to embrace the true spirit of Sallah—sacrifice, obedience, selflessness, and unity—as a guide to national development.
A Message Rooted in Sacrifice and Nation-Building
Tinubu reminded Nigerians that Eid-ul-Adha teaches more than celebration—it teaches values that strengthen society.
“To truly honour Eid, we must embody these virtues,” he said.
“Let this season renew our dedication to peace, unity, compassion, and national progress.”
He emphasized that leadership is about sacrifice and service, not just policy and politics.
Reforms Are Working, Says Tinubu
Reflecting on Nigeria’s current economic situation, Tinubu acknowledged the hardship caused by recent reforms but expressed confidence in their long-term benefits.
“Though the journey has not been easy, the resilience of public and private sector leaders, along with most Nigerians, is yielding results.”
He assured citizens that the toughest days are behind them and that the country is entering a new phase of hope and recovery under the Renewed Hope Agenda .
“The ultimate objective of these reforms is not just to improve statistics but to transform lives and set Nigeria firmly on the path to sustainable development.”
He added that while Nigeria may not yet be where it wants to be, positive movement in key economic indicators shows that real progress is underway.
Call for Compassion and National Solidarity
Tinubu called on all Nigerians to show generosity during Sallah, regardless of religion or background.
“Let us care for one another’s well-being during this season and always.”
His message also touched on recent tragedies, including the flooding in Mokwa Town, Niger State , which claimed lives and destroyed property.
“Let us join hands with the government to bring succour to the people of Mokwa.”
He asked citizens to continue praying for security personnel and leaders at all levels, urging divine guidance for those in power.
“Let us pray for our leaders and our country. Let us pray for peace in our troubled world.”
A Vision of Unity and Shared Humanity
Tinubu ended his address with a powerful call for compassion and national unity:
“May the joy and blessings of Eid-ul-Adha multiply in our lives and the life of our great nation.”
He encouraged wealthier Nigerians to support those in need and reiterated that perseverance, faith, and shared humanity should bind the country together.
“May Almighty Allah accept our worship and devotion as acts of Ibadah, and may His blessings be with us always.”
