George Quaye Disappointed in John Dumelo for Not Defending Creative Industry

Media personality George Quaye has expressed his disappointment in John Dumelo for not addressing a remark made by Tolon MP, Habib Iddrisu, during his vetting as Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture.

At the vetting on February 25, 2025, Habib told Dumelo, “You are not in your movie industry, try to be as serious as you can.” This statement has sparked backlash from the creative arts industry, with many calling it disrespectful.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio, Quaye criticized Dumelo for not correcting the MP’s remark, saying he missed an opportunity to defend the industry that made him famous. He emphasized that he would have used the moment to highlight the importance of the creative sector.

Quaye also praised MPs like A Plus, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, and Sam George for their continuous support for the industry.
