NDC Secures All 18 Parliamentary Seats in Volta Region.
The Volta Region turned into a stronghold for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections, as the party claimed victory in all 18 parliamentary seats. Among these were four new MPs: Eric Agbana (Ketu North), Sebastian Deh (Kpando), Frank Afriyie (Afadjato South), and Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo (Hohoe), who unseated NPP’s John Peter Amewu.Twelve incumbents retained their seats, including prominent figures like Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (North Tongu), Rockson-Nelson Etse Dafeamekpor (South Dayi), and Abla Dzifa Gomashie (Ketu South).The former Volta Regional Chairman of the NDC, Henry Ametefee, attributed the party’s sweeping victory to widespread dissatisfaction with the ruling government.
