The much-anticipated Rhythms On Da Runway has officially launched its "Kente Edition," encouraging designers to draw inspiration from this iconic Ghanaian textile. Kente, characterized by its vibrant hand-woven silk and cotton strips, embodies Ghana's rich cultural heritage and serves as a testament to African artistry and sustainable practices. During the launch event held on September 21 at the Silver Star Towers, Producer and Creative Director Yvonne Ocloo highlighted the evolution of Rhythms On Da Runway into Africa’s largest cultural showcase, as recognized by the BBC. She urged designers to harness the ancient wisdom of Kente weavers to create innovative and sustainable fashion pieces.
