As Kumasi International Airport nears completion, the hospitality and tourism sectors in the Ashanti region are ramping up preparations to meet international standards. With a government initiative to develop an airport city expected to draw over 3,000 visitors, hotels and tourism officials are prioritizing facility upgrades, staff training, and service quality.Surveyor George Arkoh Mensah of the Ghana Hotels Association emphasized that compliance with global standards is crucial for the region's hospitality industry. The Ghana Tourism Authority, led by Abena Amo, also aims to enhance service delivery, training local drivers, and engaging stakeholders for improved visitor experiences.The Ashanti regional Hotels Association has called for the one-percent tourism levy to fund site improvements and infrastructure upgrades to make Kumasi more attractive for tourists.
