Sanju Samson and Axar Patel are out in the middle for the toss. Rajasthan Royals wins the toss and chooses to bowl. The pitch looks good to bowl first and will get better to bat on as the game goes on. Samson says they need to put their bad results in the past and keep putting their best foot forward. Same team for Rajasthan Royals.
Axar Patel said they would also have preferred to bowl first, especially due to the dew factor but they are ready to go out and bat first. Axar says that they may have gotten a little complacent during the last game, due to their hot start to the season, and that they have discussed the need to re-focus and pick up momentum again. Capitals also unchanged.
The pitch seems to be centreed, in that there isn’t a longer boundary for the batters to target. It’s a famously small ground, of course, and one square boundary is 61m long and the other 62 and it’s 72m down the ground, when the bowler is coming in from the Willingdon end.
