Ahafo WASH Program to Provide Safe Water for Over 71,000 Children and Women.
In Nyamebekyere, a cocoa farming community in the Ahafo Region, young girls like Precious and Mahidi face the daily challenge of fetching water from distant streams before heading to school. This arduous task, along with long walks to school, is impacting their education and future dreams. However, hope is on the horizon. The Ahafo Region Integrated Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Programme (ARIWP), supported by the Conrad Hilton Foundation and implemented by World Vision Ghana, is set to provide safe water to over 71,000 people, transforming the lives of children like Precious and Mahidi. The initiative will ensure improved access to water in rural communities, reducing the burden of long treks and allowing more focus on education.
