Seven Rabies Deaths Recorded in Upper East Region Amid Calls for Increased Pet Vaccination.
Seven people in the Upper East Region have died from rabies this year, out of nine suspected cases, according to local health authorities. These figures were revealed during the World Rabies Day event in Bolgatanga, themed “Breaking Rabies Boundaries.”Collins Yin, a Health Promotion Officer, noted that the Bolgatanga Municipal recorded three suspected cases, resulting in one death. In Bongo District, all three suspected cases were fatal, and Garu District also saw two suspected rabies cases, both leading to deaths.
