Afenyo-Markin reports to CID over #SavetheJudiciary protest scuffle

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has voluntarily reported to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service following an alleged altercation with a police officer during the recent #SaveTheJudiciary protest in Accra. The incident, captured in a viral video, shows Afenyo-Markin in a confrontation with a uniformed officer at the entrance of Parliament House. While initial reports suggested that the MP assaulted the officer, Afenyo-Markin has filed a counter-complaint, alleging that he was the victim of an unprovoked attack by the officer, identified as Constable Forson. According to Afenyo-Markin, he was struck forcefully in the chest, leaving him dazed and short of breath. The Ghana Police Service has confirmed that both complaints are under investigation and has assured the public of a thorough and impartial inquiry into the matter.
