Kwahu Abetifi Destoolment: 28 Suspects Denied Bail in Violent Clashes Case.
The Mpraeso Circuit Court has denied bail to 28 suspects involved in a violent destoolment attempt of the Chief of Kwahu Abetifi. The court, presided over by Her Lordship Adwoa Akyemaa Ofosu, remanded the suspects until November 27th to allow the prosecution to conclude investigations.Defense lawyer Mr. Effah Nkrabia Dartey expressed dissatisfaction with the court's decision, questioning the delays in individualizing charges against the accused, who face allegations of kidnapping and firing weapons.The Abetifi Traditional Council supported the ruling, emphasizing the need for continued investigations and the apprehension of additional suspects still at large. Spokesperson Nana Saka Darko remarked, “I agree with the court 100% for not granting bail… some involved have not been arrested yet.”The case remains under intense scrutiny as the community seeks justice for the violent events.
