Asantehene Urges Government to Operationalize Ashanti Regional Hospital to Ease Pressure on KATH.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has urged the government to operationalize the Ashanti Regional Hospital in Sewua to reduce the burden on the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). During a visit by Health Minister Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye to the Manhyia Palace, the Asantehene emphasized that the 250-bed facility, built with investments and equipped with modern medical tools, should not be left idle.KATH, a key tertiary healthcare facility in the region, is experiencing significant pressure, and the activation of the regional hospital would help alleviate this. The hospital, which was constructed by Egyptian investment firm Euroget De-Invest, has been completed for over a year.
