WAEC Releases 2024 WASSCE Results: Over 4,000 Subject Results Canceled.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results for the 2024 WASSCE for School Candidates. Out of the 460,611 students who registered for the exams, some irregularities were reported, leading to actions by WAEC:Subject results for 4,108 candidates were canceled due to bringing unauthorized materials like notes and textbooks into the exam hall.Entire results of 483 candidates were canceled for using mobile phones.Subject results of 781 candidates and the full results of 209 candidates were withheld for further investigations.WAEC has cautioned stakeholders to beware of fraudsters offering to alter results. The results can be accessed online at www.waecgh.org using WAEC’s results verification system.

Ghana Standards Authority Cracks Down on Substandard Goods.

The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) has launched a nationwide initiative to combat the sale of substandard, fake, and unapproved goods during the Christmas season and beyond. A team of 300 Trading Standards Inspectors (TSIs), specially trained and licensed under the GSA Act 2022 (Act 1078), has been deployed to markets, supermarkets, and filling stations in major cities, including Accra, Kumasi, Tema, and Takoradi.These inspectors have the authority to check product quality, verify weights and volumes, gather evidence for prosecution, and conduct public education. Bishop Salifu Amoako’s son gets six-month sentence.

A 16-year-old boy has been sentenced to six months at a Senior Correctional Centre after causing a tragic accident in East Legon that claimed the lives of two young girls. The boy, the son of Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, founder of Alive Chapel International, was driving his mother’s Jaguar F-Pace Sport without a license when he lost control during a convoy of friends. The crash resulted in a violent collision with another vehicle, which led to a fire. The boy, who initially denied the charges, later pleaded guilty to manslaughter, dangerous driving, and more. The court also fined his parents GH₵12,000 for negligence and ordered Bishop Amoako to pay for the damages caused.

Grave Digger and Mason Jailed for Human Skull Ritual Plot.
