Trump’s 100-Day Approval Rating Hits Historic Low, Below 40%
Donald Trump won back the Oval Office and took charge of the government amid the strongest poll numbers of his political career, but as the 100-day mark of his presidency approaches, Americans’ views of what he’s done so far have turned deeply negative, a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS finds. Trump’s 41% approval rating is the lowest for any newly elected president at 100 days dating back at least to Dwight Eisenhower – including Trump’s own first term. Approval of Trump’s handling of the presidency is down 4 points since March, and 7 points lower than it was in late February. Just 22% say they strongly approve of Trump’s handling of the job, a new low, and about twice as many say they strongly disapprove (45%). Since March, Trump has seen notable drops in approval from women and Hispanic Americans (down 7 […]

Nandi-Ndaitwah said free university education would be phased in gradually and that the only "contribution as families and students for now will be towards accommodation and other related costs". "We have heard your cries: 'the Fees have Fallen'," she said, a reference to previous demands by university students in Namibia, as well as neighbouring South Africa. She said the money would come from the subsidies already given to some of the country's public universities and the money allocated to the student financial assistance fund. "If we are going to add, we are not going to add a significant [amount of funds]," she said. Primary and […]

Bawumia: NDC Had No Campaign Message, Only Used NPP’s Internal Criticisms in 2024 Elections
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a key figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has sharply criticized the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), claiming that their 2024 election campaign lacked any original or coherent message. According to Dr. Bawumia, the NDC merely amplified internal criticisms and comments made by NPP members, using them as their main political weapon. Speaking during a post-election strategic review session with party members, Dr. Bawumia said: "The NDC had no solid campaign message of their own. They simply took what we said against each other and made it their entire election strategy." He emphasized that instead of articulating a clear policy agenda or vision for the country, the NDC relied on highlighting divisions, grievances, and mistakes within the ruling party. This approach, according to Dr. Bawumia, resonated with a public already disillusioned by economic hardship and governance […]

Dr. Bawumia Attributes 2024 Election Defeat to High Cost of Living and Arrogance of Power
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Ghana’s Vice President and a leading figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has openly acknowledged that the party's defeat in the 2024 general elections was largely due to the high cost of living and a perception of arrogance among those in power. Addressing party members during a recent internal review meeting, Dr. Bawumia referenced multiple post-election reports and independent assessments that pointed to widespread public dissatisfaction with the government's economic management and attitude. According to him, these two critical factors—soaring living expenses and a disconnection from the ordinary citizen—played decisive roles in shaping voter sentiment. "Every single report we have received, both internal and external, points to the fact that the high cost of living weighed heavily on the electorate," Dr. Bawumia said. "Added to that was the perception that we became arrogant in our governance, […]

"If we are serious about winning the 2028 election, we must grant amnesty to all suspended members and invite those who have left, including Alan, to rejoin the party. We must put the past behind us and focus on the bigger picture — victory for the NPP and progress for Ghana," Agyapong declared. The Case for Amnesty and Reconciliation Kennedy Agyapong’s […]

Don’t refer lab tests to private labs — Kbu Central Lab appeals
It has consequently called on prescribers of laboratory requests of the hospital, made up of doctors and nurses, not to refer laboratory diagnostic cases to private laboratories around the hospital. It said that even if there was the need for referral of any laboratory diagnostic cases, such referral must come from the central lab, rather than the medical staff.“Let the cases come to us, and then we will refer. Our laboratory is ready to take care of the hospital’s patients. Transforming the services and restoring trust in medical laboratory services in the KBTH is a collective responsibility of all of us. “I call on all of us to rededicate ourselves to the advocacy to fight against the high speed or tendency of referring laboratory diagnostic cases to private laboratories around us.
