Salaga Slave Market Site Is a Tribute to History and Future Unity.

 Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Andrew Egyapa Mercer inaugurated the Salaga Slave Market and Heritage Site in the Savannah Region. He emphasized that the site, an 18th-century hub for the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, symbolizes more than just historical remembrance.

Mercer highlighted the importance of recognizing the legacy of slavery while promoting resilience and addressing ongoing discrimination. He urged the celebration of African heritage as a means to enhance tourism and foster international cultural understanding.

The Minister extended gratitude to His Royal Highness, the Kpembe Wura, the District Chief Executive, and all stakeholders involved in the project. He underscored that such heritage sites not only boost local economies but also build cross-cultural connections.
