KNUST Student Arrested Over Final-Year Colleague’s Murder

Authorities at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have confirmed the arrest of a student suspected of killing final-year Biological Science student Joana Deladem Yabani.

According to the university, the suspect, who lived in the same hostel as the victim, was identified through CCTV footage and later apprehended by the police. Investigators also recovered the clothes worn during the crime as evidence.

In response to the tragedy, security on campus has been significantly reinforced. Over 50 police officers, including personnel from the SWAT Unit and the Anti-Robbery Squad, have been deployed to boost safety. KNUST management has assured students of improved security measures, with plans to expand CCTV surveillance across the campus.

As investigations continue, students have been urged to take extra precautions, such as walking in groups at night and reporting suspicious activities. Meanwhile, the university has extended its condolences to the bereaved family, vowing to ensure justice is served.

The police have identified the suspect as Daniel Tuffuor.
