A suspect, Samuel Adjei, has been remanded into police custody following a tragic shooting incident during an enstoolment ceremony in Nungua on Saturday, February 22.
Adjei was arraigned before the District Court on Wednesday, February 26, facing a murder charge. According to police reports, he allegedly fired live ammunition from a single-barrel gun, fatally injuring Naa Borley Ahmed in the right thigh. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she later succumbed to her injuries.
Following his arrest, the court ordered that he remain in police custody until his next appearance on March 12, 2025.
